Money laundering case: Banking court grants interim bail to Moonis Elahi

LAHORE:  Banking court Lahore has granted interim bail to PML-Q leader Moonis Elahi till July 04 in money laundering case and directed FIA not to arrest him.


Moonis Elahi said he has got interim bail on the advice of his counsel.


The interim bail plea of Moonis Elahi came up for hearing before Banking Crime Court led by Judge Muhammad Aslam Gondal Wednesday.


Amjid Pervez, counsel for Moonis Elahi took the plea during the hearing of the case FIA has registered baseless case against  his client. Moonis Elahi has joined the investigation and recorded his statement. It is apprehended FIA will arrest him. Therefore, interim bail plea be accepted.


Following the completion of arguments ,the court  granted interim bail till july 04 besides barring the FIA from arresting Moonis Elahi.


The court directed the investigation officer to file the report on  next hearing.


In his brief talks after proceedings of the court Moonis  Elahi said he had got interim bail on the advice of his counsel.
