KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) coordination committee has demanded the Sindh government to form a judicial commission of retired judges to probe the Karachi blast that martyred three police officials and SSP CID Chaudhry Aslam.

The Raabta committee also said that all those police officers who were earlier demoted should immediately be restored to their posts.

It also said that sons of all police officials martyred in the attack should be offered jobs in police department, adding that the wish of Chaudhry Aslam’s widow should be respected.

The MQM also asked the Sindh government to offer a compensatory package of Rs 0.5million instead of Rs 0.2million to the heirs of Chaudhry Aslam’s driver and gunman.

An MQM delegation, comprising Muzammil Qureshi, Irteza Farooqi, Azeem Farooqui and led by Dr Saghir Ahmed attended the funeral prayer and burial service of SSP Chaudhry Aslam. They also conveyed MQM chief Altaf Hussain’s heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
