ISLAMABAD: Legal counsel of former President Pervez Musharraf, Barrister Saif termed prosecutor Akram Sheikh’s statement about Pervez Musharraf’s flight abroad as ridiculous.

“Akram Sheikh’s own government enlisted Musharraf in Exit Control List (ECL) and he (Musharraf) will face the situation and will not flee from scene cowardly,” he added.

He was talking to media here on Friday in front of special court formed to proceed high treason case against Musharraf.

“There is not any procedure to take into symbolic custody in criminal cases but this is Akram Sheikh’s personal opinion and decisions could not be taken on personal opinions,” said Saif.

Talking about detailed medical report of Pervez Musharraf, his legal counsel said that detailed report regarding health of former president would expectedly be presented on January 24.

He denied to comment on Aseefa Bhutto’s statement and said that Musharraf will face all cases bravely after recovery.

It is significant to mention that Aseefa Bhutto of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has suggested the court should be shifted to hospital so that Musharraf’s trial could be started.
