ISLAMABAD: Former President Pervez Musharraf has rejected the treason case against him as purely a vindictive action against him.

Talking to journalists here on Sunday, he said that he had conformed information that entire Pakistan Army was upset over the development of the treason case against him, and claimed that Army fully sided with him over the issue.

Replying to a question, he said that the way the tribunal board was constituted, and the way both Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif and former Chief Justice colluded over the issue, proved that this was a sheer act of vindication against him.

Government has decided to file treason case, according to Article 6 against former President Musharraf , for which a special tribunal has been constituted after due consensus with former CJP, Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.

Musharraf has been summoned by the special tribunal on 1st Jan 2014.
