RAWALPINDI: Nanbais of Rawalpindi city have unleashed loot and plunder spree by raising the prices of bread and nan and reducing their weight at their sweet will.

All the nanbais have decreased the weight of bread from the standard measurement of 120 gram to 80 gram while they are selling the bread and nans at increased rates. They are charging Rs 8 instead of Rs 7 for Khameri bread and Rs 10 against the fixed price of Rs 8 in respect of nan. Roghni nan is being sold at the rate of Rs 18.

They have jacked up the prices on the pretext that gas pressure is highly low and they are burning wood to fire their ovens and the wood is costing to them dearly.

The citizens have said that the low gas pressure be not made excuse by nanbais for overcharging them and demanded of the district management to take action against the Nanbais found involved in profiteering.
