Karachi: Nawab of Junagarh Muhammad Jahangir Khanji passed away in Karachi, on Thursday. He was under treatment at a private hospital for the last several days.
According to media reports Nawab of Junagadh was admitted to the infirmary with complaints of having lung problems. But later he was diagnosed with cancer. Khanji is survived by a son and daughter.
The funeral prayers of Khanji would be offered at 3: 30pm on Friday at the Junagadh House in Karachi.
Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori was grieved over the death of Jahangir. He prayed for the departed soul and the family.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah also expressed his grief over the death of Nawab of Junagadh. He offered his condolences to the relatives and family of Khanji
Khanji was a staunch advocate of the Junagarh issue. He was the grandson of Nawab Mahabat Khan, who signed an agreement of accession to Pakistan in October 1947. Junagarh was one of the princely states that opted to ally with Pakistan before partition, but India occupied the territory in November 1947.
