ISLAMABAD: Appointment of President National Bank of Pakistan (NBP), Syed Ahmad Iqbal Ashraf is expected to be challenged in Islamabad High Court (IHC). It is disclosed that government has bypassed the Supreme Court orders in appointment of President NBP and short listed four candidates including Ashraf who was famous for close contacts with ruling party.

Acting President NBP has also been ignored so this recruitment was not carried out on merit basis while Syed Ahmad Iqbal Ashraf was serving in Ministry of Finance before this.

Sources verified that application against appointment of President NBP will most probably be filed today (Thursday).
