New Year gift: POL prices likely to be hiked by Rs. 4

Islamabad: The prices of petroleum products are likely to increase by Rs 2 to 4 per liter, sources said on Monday. According to sources in the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), the government is likely to increase the price of petrol by Rs 2.50 per liter, kerosene oil by Rs 4, high speed diesel oil by Rs 4 and light diesel oil (LDO) by Rs 3 per liter with effect from January.

OGRA authorities have prepared recommendations for increasing the prices of petroleum products.

The federal government had refused to increase petroleum prices last month by giving subsidy, however prices would likely to go up for next moth which would multiply miseries of common man who is already been suffering with high prices and inflation in the country.
