ISLAMABAD: The secretary general Shiite Ulema Council (SUC), Allama Arif Hussain Wahidi has strongly negated the presence of any sectarianism in Country, just external and internal elements trying to stir trouble.

Talking to a delegation led by the president SUC, Rawalpindi, Maulana Qasim Jaffrey, Allama Arif Wahidi said that maintaining an effective religious harmony between various sects and schools of thought was mandatory, for which all Ulema of various sects should ensure that they preached the message of love and tolerance among their disciples.

He also said that if State institutions, governments, and administration also played their due part, things could be lot more harmonious, since Ulema of all schools of thought were already playing their due part

“Revoking death sentence, on foreign pressure was akin to acting against Quranic norms, as it would only encourage crime and anarchy in society, hence was akin to battling God.” , he declared , stressing that all murderers should be punished by death , as in Quranic laws.

He also warned that no restrictions would be brooked for Chehlum events of Imam Hussain during which would be celebrated in every nook and corner of Country , since this was the constitutional rights of Shiites and also pertained to freedom of speech and thought of citizens.
