Owner of pharmaceutical company released on bail in Ephedrine quota case

ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court (SC) has granted bail to one Mirza Abdul Rehman an accused in Ephedrine quota case and ordered for his release.

A 2-member bench of SC presided over by Justice Nasir ul Mulk took up for hearing Ephedrine quota case Friday.

Advocate Khalid Ranjha of the accused Mirza Abdul Rehman who is serving jail term in the case took the plea all the accused in Ephedrine quota case have been released on bail and his client is the last accused in this case who is still in jail. Mirza Abdul Rehman is owner of pharmaceutical company at Attock.

Advocate Khalid Ranjha told the court that Mirza Abdul Rehman was arrested on March, 8, 2013 by Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) and he has to appear before ANF on January, 8, 2014.

He prayed the court to issue orders for releasing the accused on bail. The court ordered for releasing the accused Abdul Rehman on depositing bail bonds in the sum of Rs 500000.
