Pak Railways decides to lay 1260 km new track

LAHORE:  Pakistan Railways has decided to lay 1260 kilometers new track and tenders have formally been issued by Railways in this regard.

According to Pakistan Railways authorities, it has also been decided to upgrade the 2679 kilometers existing track. As many as 89 locomotives will be restored under the new plan.

Proposals have been sought from the firms having international experience for new track and up-gradation. A new standard gauge track of 1260 kilometers will be laid from Gawadar to Mastung  and Basima to Jacobabad, 1254 kilometers track from Kotri to Attock,  384 kilometers track from Rohri to Quetta and 135 kilometers track from Shahdara to Faisalabad will also be upgraded.

Under the plan, 182 kilometers track from Shahdara to Wazirababd, 111 kilometers track from Sanglahill to Wazirababd and 613 kilometers track from Spezend to Taftan will also be upgraded.
