ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and the U.S. agreed upon initiating afresh the Strategic Dialogue after a hiatus of at least three years; the talks are slated to take place at the end of current month.

According to Foreign Office, Advisor to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz will leave for Washington on January 27 to partake in the negotiations. According to sources, Sartaj Aziz will call upon National Security Adviser Susan Rice during the visit.

It should be mentioned here that the two countries decided, during the visit of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to the United States in October last, to resume the talks in March this year. However, the two capitals agreed to restore the talks in January much before the agreed schedule.
