Pakistan calls on int’l community to urge India to end atrocities in IIOJ&K

NEW YORK: Pakistan has called on international community to urge India to immediately end worst form of atrocities on children in Indian illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and take preventive measures to protect children there.

Speaking in the General Assembly’s Third Committee, Deputy Permanent Representative of Pakistan to UN, Aamir Khan said over past seventy years, succeeding generations of Kashmiri children have suffered brutality of occupying Indian forces which further intensified after unilateral actions of August 5 last year.

Aamir Khan was commenting on annual report of Special Representative of Secretary-General on Children and Armed Conflict, Virginia Gamba.

The report particularly cited sixty-eight verified instances where children between ages of 9 and 17 have been detained by Indian security services in Jammu and Kashmir on national security-related charges.
