Pakistan defeat Sri Lanka in 3rd Test

SHARJAH: Azhar Ali hit a sparkling century as Pakistan beat Sri Lanka by 5 wickets in the third and final Test to draw the 3-match series in Sharjah on Monday.

The Scores: Sri Lanka: 428 for 9 declared and 214 all out while Pakistan: 341 and 302 for 5.

For Pakistan Azhar Ali scored 103 and Misbah-ul-Haq made unbeaten 68.

The series is level by 1-1.

Ali struck six 4s in his 103 off just 137 balls and was ably supported by first wicketkeeper Sarfraz Ahmed (48) and then Misbah ul Haq (68) who stayed till the end to clinch a historic win for Pakistan.

It is the first time since 1994 that Pakistan has chased a target of over 300 runs.
