LAHORE: Directors General Military Operations (DGMOs) of Pakistan and India will meet on Tuesday (today) to discuss the situation on the Line of Control (LoC).

Foreign Office spokesperson Tasnim Aslam told that the two commanders will also discuss firing incidents on the working boundary.

Pakistan’s Director General Military Operations (DGMO) invited his Indian counterpart for a meeting on December 24.

According to Indian Media reports, the Indian DGMO accepted the invitation and the meeting will take place at the Wagah border.

The purpose of the meeting is to curtail tension along the Line of Control (LoC).

Sources add that the decision to meet was taken during the September meeting between Prime Ministers Nawaz Sharif and Manmohan Singh in New York.

During the Nawaz-Manmohan meeting it was decided that both countries would abide by the 2003 ceasefire agreement to end tension along the border.
