Pakistani Diaspora to play catalyst role in economic growth: Ahsan

LAHORE: Pakistani Diaspora will play a catalyst role in economic growth of Pakistan just as Indian, Korean, Taiwani, Malaysian and Chinese Diaspora played an important role in country’s economic growth.

This was expressed by Federal Minster for Planning, Reform and Development Professor Ahsan Iqbal at a meeting of Information Technology Board Lahore was held at Arfa Kareem Tower, Lahore on Tuesday.

The meeting was attended by famous entrepreneurs and investors of Silicon Valley.

Federal Minister said that Pakistan has seen great developments in IT Industry. Pakistan will soon appear as Standard Information Power in the world. We are trying to transfer IT skills in youth so to make Pakistan IT Destination. These entrepreneurs have launched certain IT programs for youth and incubating new companies in Silicon Valley.

Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal said business and investment is growing fast in Pakistan due to the economic agenda of new Government. It’s the best time for investors to invest in Pakistan otherwise it will be too late for them. We have strong industry base now.

Regarding Unemployment he said, public sector alone can’t end unemployment but the growth of private sector will vanish unemployment in Pakistan up to 95%.

In the end, he said that Pakistani Diaspora will play a catalyst role in Pakistan economic growth just as Indian, Korean, Taiwani, Malaysian and Chinese Diaspora played an important role in country’s economic growth.
