PCB Interim Committee to continue work

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Government gave a green signal to the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to continue their work till the further directions.

These directions given to the PCB Interim Committee on Wednesday after the judgment given by Islamabad High Court for reinstated Chaudhry Zaka Ashraf as the Pakistan Cricket Board chairman, who dismissed from this post last year, sources claimed.

“After the 18th amendment in the constitution the powers of PCB patron in chief was converted from the President to the Prime Minister and Mian Nawaz Sharif gave some task to the board Interim Management Committee headed by Interim Chairman Najam Sethi”, he said.

“The main task of Interim Committee not only run the affairs of PCB but also probes the financial irregularities in the Board and gave their report to the federal government”, sources said, adding that after these circumstances it is difficult to reinstated chairman Zaka Ashraf to work smoothly in the Board affairs.

This is also mention that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif also extended 90 days period of five-member IMC comprising Najam Sethi‚ Haroon-ur-Rasheed‚ Shehryar Khan‚ Naveed Akram Cheema and Zaheer Abbas to complete their tasks including probes of financial embezzlement.
