ISLAMABAD: ANP leader, Afrasayab Khattak has termed all references about penalizing of a former dictator and permission for his travel abroad were mere premature speculations.

Talking to media in Parliament House on Monday noon, he said that he would rather “wait-and-see” as to how much of Musharraf’s efforts in slipping abroad, were successful; as all would soon be evident.

Asfandyar also termed the LG elections as legally imperative and sheer requirement of time for Federation, while he declared the success of bio-metric system at Pak-Afghan border as quite premature.

Answering a question regarding exit of American forces from Afghanistan, he said that it was sufficiently evident that American forces would not be withdrawn from Afghanistan until 2014; “while we want to see a durable peace and stability in Afghanistan, which means peace and harmony in region”, he stated, adding that this would also spell peace and an economically sound Pakistan.

JUI (F)’s Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidri said that Pervez Musharraf had violated the sanctity of parliament, in which he was not alone, but had many accomplices. “Judiciary’s approval of 12th Oct 1999 coup ‘under doctrine of necessity’ is more detrimental and worrisome” he deliberated, urging that all dictators starting from (late) President Ayub Khan should be meted equal justice.

PML-N’s Zafar Iqbal Jhagra scoffed at Pervez Musharraf earlier gesture of showing his punch, while currently he was himself afraid of facing masses.
