LAHORE: Contempt of court petition filed against DIG Investigation, DIG operation and SSP operations in matter of arrest of former Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi despite court's order has been fixed for hearing.

A single bench of Lahore High Court (LHC) led by Justice Viqas Rauf will hear contempt of court plea filed by Qaisara Elahi wife of Pervaiz Elahi on September 18.

The court has already issued arrest warrants of IG Islamabad for not appearing before it.

The court has ordered District and Sessions Judge Islamabad to present IG Islamabad before it.

Qaisara Elahi wife of Pervaiz Elahi took the plea in her petition LHC approved bail of Pervaiz Elahi in all cases. Pervaiz Elahi was recovered from NAB detention and was got released.

The court summoned DIG operation and DIG Investigation and gave them written order.

The court ordered police officers to escort Pervaiz Elahi safely to his home. Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi was lifted in the presence of both of the police officers. Both the police officers did not provide protection to Pervaiz Elahi despite court's orders.

The petitioner has requested the court through the petition to initiate contempt of court proceedings against DIG Investigation and DIG operation.
