ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court (SC) has given 15 days time limit to federal government for the appointment of chairman in Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).

On Thursday, a 3-member bench of SC headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Tasadduq Hussain Jillani heard the PIA corruption case.

During hearing CJP remarked, “We do not want to give loss to the commercial activities of PIA by giving observation, so government itself should judge the performance of department.”

Additional Attorney General (AAG) said in court, “Commission for appointments on high posts has send 3 names to Prime Minister (PM) for final approval.”

AAG said, PM has interviewed 2 candidates and only one is remaining, after that final approval of chairman PIA will be given.

On this court remarked, “We do not want to give any observation regarding this case because it will affect on commercial activities of PIA.”
