Plea for preventing care taker Punjab government from working accepted for hearing

LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) has issued written order to accept for hearing plea seeking court's order to prevent care taker Punjab government from working.

It has been said in the written order the petition is admitted for hearing.

Notice under 27-A has been issued to advocate general Punjab for assistance.

The court has issued notices to federal government and Election Commission.

The court remarked all the respondents should file written reply till June 06.

According to petitioner elections were to be held within 90 days of dissolution of assembly. The care taker government is unconstitutional.

It is pertinent to mention here Sheikh Rashid had filed petition through his counsel Azhar Siddique advocate.

He had taken the plea the 90 days tenure of care taker government has been completed. The care taker government cannot work further constitutionally.

The petitioner has requested the court to issue order for preventing the care taker government from working further.
