PM approves summary of PESCO’s control to KP

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister (PM) Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has approved summary to give control of Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government.

According to media reports on Sunday, Ministry of Water & Power had sent a summary to the PM in this regard.

According to spokesman of PM House, Ministry will write a letter to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to inform him about the decision.

He added that the ministry will also give reference of 18th amendment of the constitution in its letter to CM as this amendment allows provinces to look into administrative matters.

“Provinces are responsible for electricity division and recovery also,” he added.

It is worthy to mention that Imran Khan had demanded of the federal government that control of PESCO should be given to KP government and federal government has finally decided to do the same.
