ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Sunday cancelled his Switzerland visit after a deadly bomb attack on a military convoy in Bannu.

The Prime Minister was scheduled to attend the annual summit of World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos.

In a statement, he said that the whole nation was united on the issue of terrorism, adding that sacrifices of security forces would not go in vain.

At least 24 troops were killed and many others wounded when a powerful bomb hit a military convoy in Bannu Cantonment.

Hours before the announcement, Imran Khan criticized Prime Minister Sharif for his foreign visits amid escalating violence in the country.
