Islamabad: The meeting of the General Council of the Parliamentary Reporters Association (PRA) was held in the Press Lounge of the Parliament House. Secretary PRA Asif Bashir Chaudhry started the meeting by reciting the Holy Quran.
According to the agenda of the General Council meeting, Secretary Finance Intizar Haideri presented the accounts of two years before the General Council, which were approved.
Working journalist Tariq Mehmood, Sohail Abdul Nasir, Shabbir Hussain, Johar Majeed were also remembered, who were died due to Corona epidemic.
Fatiha was also recited for the relatives of Chaudhry Mazhar Hussain and Tariq Mehmood Virk.
President PRA Muhammad Siddique Sajid presented some amendments in the PRA constitution, on which all the members' opinions and suggestions were approved by consensus and some amendments were further reviewed and postponed until the next General Council meeting.
Addressing the meeting, President PRA thanked the General Council members and said that the Parliamentary Reporters Association is the most effective and representative organization of journalists.
Genuine organizational matters are being discussed with differences of opinion with due respect, which will activate the organization, there is always room for improvement in organizations.
Secretary Asif Bashir Chaudhry expressed his opinion and said that we have full faith in PRA and working
wholeheartedly for the betterment of the organization.
The manner in which we have brought the organization forward has not only facilitated the PRA members in parliamentary journalistic matters but also strengthened their discipline.
He paid tribute to Chairman Rana Ghulam Qadir and his members for the services of the Constitutional Committee.
A large number of members including Executive Committee, former Executive Committee officials and members, Management Committee members, Walk-out Committee members participated in the General Council meeting.
