Prima facie it seems FIA does not want to hold inquiry in EOBI corruption case: Justice Azmat Saeed

ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court (SC) has expressed dissatisfaction over FIA report in EOBI corruption case and directed that report be filed again.

A 3-membwer bench of SC presided over by the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Tasadduq Hussain Jillani took up the case for hearing Monday.

Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) has remarked “ FIA should prepare and furnish a chart containing all the details. The court be informed about the nature of investigation and be provided the details on how many accused have been arrested so far. Merely 3-page report will not serve the purpose. Court be told about the current situation with reference to land in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. We went detailed report.

Justice Azmat Saeed remarked “ prima facie it seems FIA does not want to hold inquiry. If it is so that the court be told on this count. FIA is also not telling how many inquiries have been conducted so far and how many cases have been registered.

EOBI authorities and other officials appeared in the court and told that report had been filed.

The court rejected the report and ordered FIA to file the report again till next Monday.
