Mardan: Police have arrested 9 people including proclaimed offenders and narcotics dealers and also recovered drugs of various kinds and weapons in operations in Mardan district, a press  release said.

According to the press release on the directives of District Police Officer Dr  Zahidullah, the police conducted operations in the limits of city, Par Hoti, Sheikh Maltoon Town,  and Lundkhwar areas, arresting 9 suspects including 2 proclaimed offenders and 7 alleged drug  dealers, including two inter-districts drug dealers.

The drugs recovered included 5 kg heroin, 3 kg hashish and 4 liters of wine. Police also recovered 1 Kalashnikov rifles. Police recovered  narcotics from the hidden compartments of the Chung Chi rickshaw. The arrestees were identified as Gulzar, Amir, Abbas, Owais, Manzoor, Saeed Ali and Afsar Khan. Police registered separate cases against the arrestees and started investigation.
