Prof. Farrukh Ahmed Khan remembered

Lahore: Rich tribute was paid to Prof. Farrukh Ahmed Khan, the pioneer of Department of Urology at Lahore General Hospital who served for 17 years at Post Graduate Medical Institute, in a condolence reference held at PGMI here Sunday.

The reference was attended by Prof. Anjum Habib Vohra, the Principal PGMI and LGH, Prof. Ahmed Salman Waris, ex deans of PGMI Prof. Ejaz Ahsan and Prof. Sajjad Hussain, wife and daughter of Prof. Farrukh Ahmed Khan, members of faculty council and students of Ameer ud Din Medical college.

While remembering his services, Prof. Anjum Habib Vohra said that Prof. Farrukh rendered great services for the establishment of Urology Department at LGH. He produced many specialists and urologists to KPK and Baluchistan besides Punjab.

Pakistan Government honoured him with Sitara e Imtiaz in recognition of his dedication and devotion for ailing humanity. He told that Prof. Farrukh had also contributed to great extent on research, publication and pertains. He was also first Editor of Pakistan Post Graduate Medical Journal.

The participants of the reference also preyed to the Almighty Allah to rest the departed souls of Dr. Haseeb, the husband of Dr. Rozina, Associate Professor of Pathology and Dr. Saeed Akhtar Khan, ex Associate Professor of Pathology who were expired a few days ago, in peace.
