ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court (SC) has declined to constitute commission in murder case of chairperson of Human Rights Organization Karachi Perveen Rehman on the pattern of Salim Shahzad murder case remarking constituting a commission is domain of government and not of court.

The court also remarked “ increase in sense of lack of security among the citizens in the back drop of growing lawlessness in peaceful city like Karachi is natural. Protecting the life and property of citizens is responsibility of state as per law and constitution.

SC bench led by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Tassaduq Hussain Jillani took up the case for hearing Thursday.

The court observed that it would not do so as this is job of the government and he should approach government for this purpose. “We direct the police to take steps for arresting the accused persons and present its report before it”, court further observed.
