LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) has given time to state counsel for assistance and filing reply on the petition seeking provision of details in respect of the persons who have received gifts from toshakhana since independence till now.

The petition filed by a citizen Asim Hafiz came up for hearing before single bench of LHC led by Justice Asim Hafeez wherein request has been made to provide details of the persons who have received gifts from Tosha Khana from independence of Pakistan till now.

The state counsel requested the court to grant time for assistance in respect of Toshakhana record for the period prior to 2000.

The counsel for the federal government told the court tosha khana record pertaining to period prior to 2000 is not available in organized way. It is requested that time be granted to seek report and file reply in this regard.

The court while accepting the plea adjourned the hearing of the case till March 22.
