Provocative wall chalking triggers sectarian tension in Chiniot, 10 hurt

Chiniot: Violence broke out between two sectarian groups in Chiniot on Saturday over provocative wall-chalking, wounding 10 people from both sides, media reports said. According to reports, unknown miscreants chalked city walls with offensive and hate-filled slogans, leading to a clash in the morning.

Both sides resorted to firing, leaving 10 people wounded. They were shifted to Allied Hospital. According to doctors, two of those injured are in critical condition. Following the clash, heavy police contingent reached the scene and tried to control the situation. Police teams are patrolling the city while all markets and shops are lying closed due to tense situation. People say that a deliberate attempt is being made to create unrest in the city.
