PTI Govt approaching various world fora to improve economy: Dr Firdous

ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government is approaching various world fora including International Monitoring Fund (IMF), World Bank (WB) and Asian Development Bank (ADB) to seek financial assistance to improve the national economy. She said that we will fight war at every front for provision of relief to masses. She said that the government will not hide anything regarding deal with IMF.

Talking to a private news channel, said that after finalization of deal with IMF we will take the opposition into confidence, adding that the government will not make any decision which will be against the interests of Pakistan.

Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said we have to pay the installments of old loans and we will have to decrease the budget and trade deficit, adding that we have no other option but to approach the IMF. She said that the opposition should permit parliament functioning and jointly run the parliament, adding that she is not ready to accept the stance that the opposition will oppose the public friendly legislation.

She said that during the holy month of Ramazan, the opposition should go on ceasefire and should stop blame game, allegations, propaganda and should stop efforts to misguide the people and government should also talk on the basis of facts. 

She said the government is taking every possible step in the larger national interest to put the country back on the track of development.

The Special Assistant said Prime Minister Imran Khan has the vision to strengthen state institutions and economy. She said that every policy is being formed for the poor people, adding that now the policies will not be formed for the protection of family and personal businesses. She said that the poor person is our priority. She said that in new Pakistan the appointments are made on merit, adding that the appointments will not be made on the basis of relative or personal relationship. She said that Imran Khan had said that in changing Pakistan the people will come in Pakistan from abroad after quitting jobs.

To a question, she said the Federal Cabinet has lifted ban on jobs and new vacancies would be announced soon. She said that the cabinet division has issued the notification regarding lifting ban on recruitments. Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said where we have written in IMF agreement that we will not give jobs to people.
