PTI govt laid foundation of change: Asad

ISLAMABAD: Senior Leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Asad Umar says his party government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has laid the foundation of change in the province by doing the necessary legislation.

In an interview with state run radio on Saturday‚ he said the legislation included right to information act‚ right to public service law‚ accountability bill and local government act.

Asad Umar said in the next phase‚ the provincial government will focus on the strengthening of institutions.

He said the legislation such as the local government act will ensure transfer of powers to the grass roots level while establishment of an independent accountability institution will ensure across the board accountability.

Asad Umar pointed out that the country is faced with serious energy crisis and the provincial government plans to completely revamp two related institutions including Pakhtunkhwa Hydel Development Organization.

There are huge reserves of oil and gas in the province which will be also exploited. He said these initiatives and others such as establishment of industrial zones will create job opportunities and bring positive change in the lives of people.

When asked about the issue of terrorism‚ the senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf said the people of the country want an end to the bloodshed and they want resolution of this issue through any means.

He said the federal and provincial governments as well as all the political parties should fulfil their responsibilities in this regard.
