Punjab police embezzles Rs 90 million: Reports

LAHORE: Interior ministry Punjab has unearthed 90 million rupees embezzlement in the purchase of bullet proof jackets for Punjab police. According to media reports, Inspector General Punjab police (IGP) has written a letter to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for investigation of this embezzlement.

IGP said in his letters said that a private company was given tender for purchase of bullet proof jackets which was ready to provide jackets at Rs 40900 s per jacket but logistics cell cancelled that tender and purchased jackets from blue eyed company at a rate of 69800 rupees per jacket.

The IGP stated that Punjab police has made an embezzlement of Rs 90 million in purchase of 600 jackets. On the other hand, Chief Minister and IG Punjab have formed enquiry committee to probe the matter.
