Punjab Youth Festival in full swing in Punjab

LAHORE: The Punjab Youth Festival Village Level competitions are in full swing in all 36 districts of Punjab including Lahore on second day.

Throughout the province more than 170000 youngsters participated in various exciting sports activities. After several interesting contests 21000 players were declared winners of the games. Competitions of Cricket Tape Ball, Tug Of War, Athletics, Billiard, Badminton, Volleyball, and Arm Wrestling were held.

In Lahore at Wahgah town and Iqbal town, competitions of Cricket Tape Ball were held. In which 210 players participated from 20 union councils, while 56 of them were declared winners.
Furthermore, second day activities of Punjab Youth Festival continued in Districts all over Punjab.

In Khushab District 345 players from 6 Union Councils participated in 82 events,168 of them were declared winners. In Layyah District 280 players from 17 Union councils participated in 21 events, 130 of them were declared winners. In Rajanpur District 312 players from 19 Union councils participated in 52 events, 156 of them were declared winners.

In Chiniot District 32 players from 4 Union councils participated in 9 events, 12 of them were declared winners. In Kehror Pekka District 210 players from 10 Union councils participated in 12 events, 99 of them were declared winners.

In Mandi Bahauddin District 6246 players from 229 Union councils participated in 1196 events, 2960 of them were declared winners.

In Bahawalpur District 199 players from 15 Union councils participated in 27 events, 126 of them were declared winners. Similarly in Faisalabad Division 5080 players from 56 Union councils participated in 512 events, 3730 of them were declared winners.

Earlier at first day of Punjab Youth Festival 1.5 lacs youngsters participated at the Village level of 36 Districts of Punjab. Competitions of Cricket Tape Ball Matches, Volley Ball, Arm Wrestling, Qiraat, Naat Khuwani, Badminton, Tug of war were held in Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Sahiwal, DG Khan, Faisalabad, and Sargodha. In Gujranwala, 482 players participated in 116 events from 32 Union councils, 240 of them were declared winners.

In Lahore District 5694 players participated from 45 Union councils and 3115 were the winners. Similarly 672 players participated in 84 events from around 42 union councils of DG Khan District. In Sargodha 11639 players from around 56 union councils participated in 818 events.

In Faisalabad 9380 players participated in 335 events from around 73 union councils. Similarly in Sahiwal, 21505 players participated in 3195 events from around 437 union councils and 3195 were declared winners.

MNA’s and MPA’s witnessed the events held at Union Council Level. DCO’s and DPO’s made special arrangements for the events of Youth Festival in their respective districts. All the players enthusiastically participated in sports competitions. Public anticipated that this festival would create a good and softer image of Pakistan.
