Rehabilitation and reconstruction of newly tribal districts top priority: CM KP

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan says the government is committed to bring tribal districts at par with developed districts of the province.

Chairing a meeting of the provincial cabinet in Peshawar on Tuesday, he said rehabilitation and reconstruction of newly tribal districts is among top priorities of the government to remove sense of deprivation of tribesmen.

The Chief Minister directed the concerned authorities to speed up the process of self-employment scheme for tribal youth for which an amount of more than one billion rupees has been allocated.

Mahmood Khan said the process of solarization of mosques, schools and other developmental projects in tribal districts should be accelerated.

The meeting decided to acquire land for industrial estate in tribal belt.

It was also decided to overcome shortage of staff, medical equipments and medicines in all government hospitals in the province.

Six new playgrounds will be established besides upgrading of nineteen playgrounds across the province.

The meeting was briefed about more than one thousand different development schemes in the area out of which two hundred and forty-six are near to completion.

The provincial cabinet also approved to give status of tehsil to Martung area of district Shangla.
