Removal of Imran Khan from party chairmanship: LHC recommends to constitute full bench to hear petition

LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) has recommended to constitute full bench on the petition filed by Imran Khan against the proceedings regarding his removal from party chairmanship .

Justice Jawad Hassan has remarked there are several constitutional matters in the petition which need to be interpreted.

The court sent the file to Chief Justice LHC for formation of full bench.

The petition against the Election Commission (EC) proceedings for removing Imran Khan from chairmanship of PTI came up for hearing before single bench of LHC led by Justice Jawad Hassan Wednesday.

Barrister Ali Zafar counsel for Imran Khan appeared in the court.

The counsel for EC sought more time for filing reply.

The counsel said the senior counsel is busy in Islamabad. The court is requested to give more time to file reply.

The counsel for federal government raised objection over the maintainability of Imran Khan petition.

The counsel said Imran Khan petition of this nature is already pending hearing in Islamabad High Court.
