RESCUE 1122 on emergency alert on Chehlum

RAWALPINDI: The Director General, Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122), Dr. Rizwan Naseer reviewed the arrangements for providing emergency medical cover to the mourning processions during Chehlum of Moharram-ul-Harram.

In this regard rescuers have been assigned special emergency duties in all over the Punjab including Rawalpindi.
In Rawalpindi rescuers will remain on emergency alert with 13 fully equipped Emergency Ambulances, 10 Fire Vehicles, 02 Rescue & Recovery Vehicle, 03 Specialized Vehicles (105f & 65f) and 11 rescue mobile posts will move along with the processions. Rescue posts will be established at Fatimia Imam bargah, Hathi Chowk Saddar, Imam bargah Qasr-e-Shabbir, Dhoke Syyedan, Imam Bargah Kashmirian, Toheedi Road Dhoke Ratta, Imam Bargah Qasr-e-Abu Talib a.s, Abid Majeed Road, Imam Bargah Ashiq Hussain ,Tali Mohallah, Imam Bargah Col. Maqbool , College Road, Imam bargah Hifazat Ali Shah Near Bohar Bazar, Imam Bargah Yadgar-e-Hussain Satellite Town, Imam Bargah Qasre-e-Zainab S.A, Bakra Mandi Chowk, Imam bargah Qasr-e-Sajjad Mughalabad.

All mobile posts and ambulances with medical kits will be moving along with the processions to provide mourners with immediate medical treatment if needed. Emergency Officers including trained doctors will supervise the arrangements on Chehlum.

The rescuers will provide medical cover to mass gathering mourners’ processions and Majalis throughout the Chehlum of Muharram-ul-Harram. In this regard close liaison with Hospitals, Police, Security and Counter Terrorism Cell has been established during pre arrangement meetings.

The Director General said such arrangements are essential for mass gatherings so that any emergency can be responded in an efficient manner and it is the moral responsibility of citizens to give way to the Rescue Emergency Ambulances and Fire Vehicles. He advised citizens to dial 1122 in case of any emergency. Only timely call can ensure timely rescue, he added.
