ISLAMABAD: PTI has filed contempt of court petition in Supreme Court (SC) against KP governor for not announcing date to hold general election in KP despite clear orders of apex court.
The petition has been filed by former speaker National Assembly (NA) Asad Qaisar and former speaker KP assembly Mushtaq Ghani.
The petitioners have taken plea in the petition that SC had ordered governor KP to give date for holding general election in the province and federal government to provide facilities.
Despite clear orders of SC, governor KP is not giving date for general election in KP.
Through this petition the SC has been requested to initiate contempt of court proceedings against KP governor.
The contempt of court petition against governor KP has been submitted under article 204 of the constitution.
