SC seeks detail of all fake degree cases against parliamentarians

ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court (SC) has directed Election Commission (EC) to submit the detail report of all fake degree cases against parliamentarians in court in 7 days.

On Wednesday, a 3-member bench of SC headed by Chief Justice (CJ) Tasadduq Hussain Jillani took the pleas of fake degrees cases against parliamentarians. During hearing secretary EC Ishtiaq Ahmed Khan and other officials appeared in court.

On this occasion court directed EC to submit the detail report of all fake degrees cases against parliamentarians in 7 days so that court could decide them.

While during the hearing of fake degree case against candidate of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Ghulam Sarwar Khan from constituency NA-54 Taxila, CJ Tasadduq Hussain Jillani rescued himself from the bench.

CJ regretting from taking the case of Ghulam Sarwar Khan remarked that he had heard this case as a tribunal before, so he cannot sit in this bench. CJ ordered to shift this case to any other bench on January 15.

Mentioning here, degree of Ghulam Sarwar Khan has been challenged in SC by a voter of his constituency naming Ghulam Qamar.
