Security high alert in Rawalpindi on eve of Milad

RAWALPINDI: Security has been high alerted across the city in order to avoid any untoward incident on eve of Eid Milad-Un-Nabi (PBUH) that is going to be observed on Tuesday, January 14.

Police have made stringent security measures on all entries and exits of the city as the city observed worst sectarian terrorism on Youm-e-Aashur which killed atleast 10 to 12 people and injured many others.

Police aimed to crush revival of such incident and to cope such situation forcefully in order to maintain religious harmony and inter faith respect that is identification of this city as people belong to different sects are living together for many decades and sectarian clashes never rouse here before this.

Police have also increased patrolling across the city and started special checking of vehicles on each and every checking point and locked up many vehicles during operation.

Police have announced general holdup and vehicles without documents have been taken into custody.

Police spokesman informed media persons that departmental action would be taken against those policemen who were found guilty to irritate innocent citizens under the umbrella of search operation and general holdup.
