Senate body express reservations about Gawadar to Kashghar motorway

ISLAMABAD: Senate Standing Committee for Communication, expressing reservations over motorway routes from Gawadar to Kashghar has directed National Highways officials to brief the committee about details of project in the next meeting. The meeting of committee was held in parliament house on Friday and presided over by chairman committee Dawood Khan Achakzai.

The committee was briefed about development projects in Balochistan. Chairman committee said that National Highways officials did not threaten the committee from courts, adding running development projects in Balochistan should not be politicised.

Member committee, Rozi Khan Kakar has said that government should ponder the laziness of on-going development projects in Balochistan. State Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Sheikh Aftab Ahmad has said that Highways officials are not fully aware about Gawadar motorway.

Director General Frontier Works Organization (FWO) informed the meeting that organization has started work from Panjgur to North and this would be completed within a year.
