Servant arrested for setting on fire owner’s house

ISLAMABAD: Shalimar police Islamabad has arrested a person who set on fire his owner’s house after stealing foreign currency, a police spokesman said.

According to details, Khawaja Ahmed Abbass, resident of House no. 198, street no.33 sector F-10/1, lodged the report (Case # 387 dated December 28) with Shalimar police station that Basheer Ahmed had been serving at his home for the last four months. He said he found his home set on fire when he returned there after some urgent job.

He said fire was extinguished immediately with the help of local people and a police was also called. The complainant said that he found his servant Basheer Ahmed missing along with $ 4140.

Following his compliant, SP (Saddar) Jameel Ahmed Hashmi constituted a special team under supervision of SHO Haq Nawaz Ranjha, Assistant Sub-Inspector Muhammad Iqbal and others.

This team succeeded to trace servant Basheer Ahmed and recovered stolen US dollars from him. Further investigation is underway from him.

IGP Sikandar Hayat and SSP Muhammad Rizwan have appreciated this performance of Shalimar police team and announced cash prizes and commendation certificates for team members.
