Severe cold spell hits upper parts of the country, Balochistan

LAHORE: Severe cold spell has gripped the upper parts of the country and Balochistan province including Quetta, Ziarat and Qallat.

The fog has enveloped the plain areas in Punjab The weather grew cold in Lahore in the wake of overnight drizzling . Blood curdling cold waves have reigned over most of the areas of Balochistan where the temperature is reported to have fallen below freezing point.

The twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad are severely struck by the cold waves. As per met office, the weather will remain cloudy in the next 24 hours in the country. Kashmir, Gilgit, Baltistan, Hazara, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala and Lahore division will receive mild rainfall. Dense clouds are hovering over the areas of Multan and its suburbs.

Fog and blistering cold waves have adversely disrupted normal life in urban and rural areas of the country. The temperature plunged to the lowest level of minus 11 degree centigrade in Parachinar.
