Shahbaz assures provision of all out resources for maintenance of law

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that nothing can be more important than maintenance of law and order and all out resources would be provided for this purpose.

He was presiding over a high level meeting here on Tuesday that reviewed in detail the overall law and order situation across the province.

The CM deplored over recent terror incidents deplorable and expressed resentment at the loss of precious human lives, adding he urged whole nation to unite on a single platform to counter lawlessness.

“Protection of life and property of people is the key responsibility of the government and no effort will be spared for this purpose,” Shahbaz mentioned.

The Chief Minister directed police to perform its duties regarding protection of life and property of the citizens in an efficient manner and utilize all out energies for further improving law and order in the province.

Shahbaz Sharif directed law enforcement agencies to remain fully alert in view of recent incidents while intelligence sharing system should be made more effective.

He warned that the elements playing with innocent lives deserve no leniency and would be dealt with an iron hand.

Secretary Home and Inspector General Police (IGP) gave a detailed briefing on overall law and order situation in the province.

Provincial Ministers Rana Sanaullah Khan, Colonel (Retd) Shuja Khanzada, Chief Secretary, Inspector General Police, Secretary Home and concerned officials were present.
