KARACHI:  A National Accountability Bureau (NAB) director got himself into trouble with the Sindh High Court for not knowing the case history of a land transfer case.

SHC Chief Justice Ahmad Ali M Sheikh was hearing a case relating to the transfer of 134 acres of land in Thatta district.

“Please tell us about the case,” he asked NAB Director Tariq Khan but the director was unable to do so.

The chief justice expressed his displeasure and remarked: “What is your duty? Do you come to court to rest?”

The judge asked for the original complaint in the case. NAB failed to submit it.

If no one filed a complaint against Irshad Shah and Nazeer Shah, then who initiated the inquiry, asked Justice Sheikh. “Will NAB start an investigation if anyone files a fake complaint against is directors or investigating officers?”

The court then summoned the entire records of the land since 1990. The case has been adjourned till April 9.
