KARACHI: Two ships C.V Maersk Detroit and M.T Feng Hai-33 scheduled to load/offload containers and palm oil were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was managed at the port at fifty percent on Sunday where seven ships namely C.V Maersk Detroit, C.V MSC Kerry, M.V Densa Leopard, M.V Alam Manis, M.V Hay, M.T Al-Salam-II were occupied PQA berths to load/offload containers, cement, rice palm oil and diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.

A cargo volume of 99,145 tonnes, comprises 80,284 tonnes imports and 18,861 tonnes exports inclusive containerized cargo carried in 2,070 containers (TEUs) (1,242 imports and 828 exports TEUs) were handled during last 24 hours during last 24 hours.

Containers Vessel MSC Kerry sailed out to sea on Sunday morning while two more ships, edible oil carrier ‘Feng Hai-33’ and oil tanker ‘Al-Salam-II’ are expected to sail on same day afternoon.

Two ships C.V Safmarine Nagami and M.V Inlaco Brave scheduled to load/offload containers and wheat are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and Liquid Terminal respectively on monday, while

three more ships ‘Al-Farahidi’, ‘Maersk Kingston’ and ‘Ruby-T’ carrying containers and palm oil due to arrive at Port Qasim on same day and two more ships ‘CMA CGM Beilini’ and ‘Olympic Sponsor’ with container and furnace oil are due to arrive on Tuesday.
