ISLAMABAD: Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) and Majlis Wahdat-ul-Muslimeen (MWM) will host a joint convention in federal capital on January 5 in a bid to promote interfaith harmony across the country. This was announced on Friday in a press conference jointly addressed by Chairman SIC Sahibzada Hamid Raza and MWM General Secretary Allama Nasir Abbas here.
MWM chief said that it was government’s responsibility to implement a proposed policy on religious harmony. “Shias and Sunnis established Pakistan through joint efforts and now they will save the country,” he said. Allama Nasir Abbas announced that next Eid Milad-un-Nabi processions would be jointly taken out in the country.

SIC head Hamid Raza said that the state had failed completely and government was befooling people in the name of talks with Taliban, he added. “Time has come that the government should establish its writ against terrorists,” he demanded.
