While addressing a press conference in Quetta after oath taking of the newly elected shoorah of Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan on Sunday, Sirajul Haq announced to spread the protest movement to all the cities, villages and areas of the province.

Sirajul Haq said that Balochistan government is committing excess against the masses, adding that on the one hand the announcements are being made that CPEC is the guarantor of the prosperity of the country but on the other hand especially in Gwadar, which is tantamount to the backbone of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor, tyrannies and suppression is being committed. He said that the local people of Gwadar under the leadership of Maulana Hidayatur Rehman Baloch started movement in favor of their demands, sit-ins were staged for two months but effort was made to sabotage this movement through force.

Sirajul Haq said that the people of Gwadar are used to earn livelihood while catching fishes, adding that the government decided to snatch their livelihood while importing trollers from outside, adding that the security check posts were established in front of the houses of people. He said that no respectable person could tolerate his disrespect, adding that instead of men the women also have to pass through these security check posts. He said that the people of Gwadar are demanding water, education, health and employment for themselves. He said that this is their right which has been given to them by the Constitution of Pakistan. He said that the government should accept the demands of the people, looting should be stopped and check posts should be abolished. He said that in result of the ban on the trade at the Pakistan-Iran border, influential people are earning millions of rupees but even the food is not available for the local people. He said that the same situation is at the Pak-Chaman border due to the trade ban, it is causing more harm to Pakistan as compared to Afghanistan.

Sirajul Haq warned the rulers that the important leader of the “Gwadar Ko Haq Do” movement, Maulana Hidayatur Rehman Baloch should be released, masses should be given their rights; otherwise the government will be responsible for the circumstances. He said that Maulana Hidayatur Rehman has become the voice of rights of the whole province. He said that a sardar, running the private jail and involved in alleged three murders, has been released but those who stage peaceful sit-in for their legitimate rights are languishing in jail.
