QUETTA: Mercury is likely to further drop down as Pakistan Metrological Department (PMD) forecast snowfall in parts of Balochistan and upper areas of Punjab during the next 24 hours.

Balochistan’s Kalat area was coldest place in the country today with a minimum temperature of 0 degrees C. It was followed by Quetta’s -6 degrees C and Dalbandin’s -3 degrees C.

The chilly Siberian winds are badly hitting the provincial capital, and northern and southern parts of Balochistan, sending cold waves to Sindh.

According the PMD, snowfall is likely in parts of Balochistan besides Galiyat and Murree areas of upper Punjab tomorrow, caused by a new weather system entering Balochistan. Cold and dry weather is expected in other parts of the country.
