Survey work starts on Metro Bus project

RAWALPINDI: Survey has been started to launch metro bus service which will run from Flashman hotel to Pak Secretariat via Faizabad in the first phase.

DCO Rawalpindi Sajid Zafar has issued directives to IESCO, Sui Gas, PTCL and WASA to work out survey report and estimate for shifting utilities from Flashman hotel to Faizabad and send their reports to him.

Revenue department has started carrying out survey of Murree road. A revenue department team comprising Naib Tehsildar Raja Shakoot, Abid Shah, Gidawar Azhar Mehmood, patwaris and RDS officials has conducted measurement work of Murree road from Mareer chowk to Waris Khan bus stop besides reviewing the problems related to encroachments and other matters. The minimum width of Murree road from Mareer chowk to Waris Khan was found 90 feet and maximum width 130 feet.

Sources said that proposal is also under consideration to keep the electricity wiring underground on Murree road in connection with Metro Bus project.

The work on this project from Faizabad to Pak Secretariat will be completed under Capital Development Authority (CDA). The entire project will be supervised by Metro Bus Company Lahore.
